CHOPPER
This is a 100kph rollercoaster of a movie that must be seen. This makes lock stock and snatch (films I love) look like a film for little kiddies!
Fucking hilarious, nuts and bad ass. That pretty much sums up Mark "Chopper" Read. Hollywood could never have told this thug's story so well.
Eric Bana brilliantly plays (best performance up until now) the role of psychopathic Mark "Chopper" Read, a legendary criminal who wrote his best-selling autobiography, while serving a murder sentence in the maximum security Melbourne prison. Alternately wickedly funny and grotesque, CHOPPER gives no easy answer to the question of Chopper Read's motives to kill, but his method is clear, "Ya bash people for no reason, just to get a name for yourself." He is indeed, you guessed it, the new Ned Kelly.
I am not going to spoil it for you by writing a synopsis of the film, as I am sure you will all definitely want to see it. All I can say is that it is not difficult to understand why Brad Pitt and others signed up to the director's (Andrew Dominik) Jesse James film, already considered a masterpiece.
